Mission Statement:<\/p>\n
Hydrocephalus is one of the most common, treatable causes of neurological disability and death in the developing world.\u00a0 When identified early and treated effectively, the buildup of fluid in the brain can be prevented, improving the chances for a normal and productive life.\u00a0\u00a0 Haiti Healthy Kids\u00a0 provides treatment and care to patients with hydrocephalus and\u00a0 teaches local medical professionals how to care for these children. The long term goals include research to determine the origin of the infectious process mostly likely causing the hydrocephalus and to limit the severity of the individual child’s hydrocephalus by implementing pre and post natal care and newborn follow up.<\/p>\n
