Help Heal Haiti’s Children
MUSIC FOR HAITI HEALTHY KIDS raised over $2800 for the hydrocephalus program in Haiti on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Books and Books in Coral Gables. The event included live music, a drum circle, guest speakers, a live auction, a picture gallery, a raffle and a film premier by award winning documentary media maker Sanjeev Chatterjee. All proceeds from the event went to Haiti Healthy Kids Inc. to support the medical care of Haitian children with hydrocephalus and the first neurosurgery-training program in Haiti.
Below are photographs from the event.
Daniel Torrents (photograph above), a senior at South Miami High School, travelled to Haiti with Dr. Sanjiv Bhatia. Daniel, a musician, brought drums to help entertain the children and their families. The joy that the music brought to the children inspired him to raise money for instruments for the hospital and also for the medical care of the Haitian children with hydrocephalus. Haiti Healthy Kids, Inc. raises money to support Project Medishare’s Hydrocephalus Program. Please help Daniel help the children.
